CUB SCOUT PACK 817

PACK 817 – CHARTERED SINCE 2000

We are proud of our history of serving the boys of our community. Pack 817 is part of the Lakeview District within the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America®.

Pack 817 is chartered by First Methodist Church here in Grapevine. Although First United Methodist Church holds our Charter the Pack remains non-sectarian. We are fortunate to enjoy great diversity within the Pack and have boys of many religious denominations and ethnic backgrounds. We are part of the world brotherhood of Scouting that includes over 17 million members in more than 134 countries worldwide.

Since its origin, the Scouting program has been an educational experience concerned with values. In 1910, the first activities for Scouts were designed to build character, physical fitness, practical skills, and service. These elements were part of the original Cub Scout program and continue to be part of Cub Scouting today.

Character development should extend into every aspect of a boy's life. Character development should also extend into every aspect of Cub Scouting. We strive to use the 12 points of the Scout Law throughout all elements of the program—service projects, ceremonies, games, skits, songs, crafts, and all the other activities enjoyed at den and pack meetings.

Welcome to Pack 817!
